Activate your Stripe (Connect) account: the KYC steps

Set up Stripe Connect to start collecting payments. Steps, identity verification and statuses.

Written by Team Ops

To collect payments from your clients, you must activate Stripe Connect. Stripe verifies your identity (KYC) and pays out money directly to your bank account.

🔒 This setup must be done by an admin (or the owner). A member will see the message: "Stripe configuration must be completed by an administrator or the account owner."

The 3 steps

The "Activate Stripe Connect" screen sums up the journey:

  1. Create your Stripe account — enter your agency information and bank details.

  2. Identity verification — Stripe verifies your identity and documents to secure transactions.

  3. Start collecting payments — once approved, receive payments from your clients directly to your account.

How to do it

  1. Click "Activate Stripe Connect."

  2. You're redirected to Stripe's secure form: enter your details (company, legal representative, IBAN) and upload the requested documents.

  3. When you're done, you're automatically returned to Ezus Pay.

If you'd started without finishing, the button shows "Resume activation": pick up where you left off.

Understanding the statuses

Status

Meaning

Not connected

You haven't started yet.

Onboarding

Form started but incomplete — information is still required.

Pending verification

You've submitted everything; Stripe is reviewing your file. You'll be notified once activated.

Active

All good, you can collect payments.

Restricted

You can collect payments, but payouts are on hold — complete the requested information in your Stripe dashboard.

Disabled

Information is missing and blocks activation.

After activation

  • If approved, you'll see the "You're all set!" screen, then "Go to dashboard."

  • If it's in progress, you'll see "Verification in progress" — nothing to do, wait for the notification ("You will be notified by email once your account is fully activated.").

  • If something's missing, the "You're almost there!" screen shows the number of missing items; click "Complete my application."

You can check the state anytime under Settings → Stripe (mode, "Charges" status and "Payouts" status) and open your Stripe dashboard from that same screen via "Go to Stripe Dashboard."

As long as Stripe isn't active, the app shows "Activate payments" and points you to setup: this is expected — it guarantees you don't create a link before you can actually get paid.
